Kilroy arrived in Hartford,
doing his first morning show on Monday, May
24, 1965.
He jumped, with both feet, into station promotions,
hosting an appearance of the Dick Clark Caravan
of Stars at the Bushnell Memorial in Hartford
on May 30. Performers included Billy Stewart,
Freddy Cannon, Brenda Holloway, Bobby Vee
and Little Anthony and the Imperials. The
following photo shows Kilroy with Peter Noone
(lead singer of Herman's Hermits), and WPOP
DJ Roy Cooper.
Not long after Kilroy emceed
a show at the Bushnell Memorial on June 14,
1965 featuring comedians Marty Allen and Steve
Rossi.
Kilroy's son,
Larry Morton, believes the following photo
was taken during the summer of 1965 in connection
with the release of the
Ramsey Lewis Trio's megahit, The In Crowd.
Shown are (l-r) Ramsey Lewis, Kilroy, Redd
Holt and Eldee Young.
No doubt Kilroy was present
with the other WPOP Good Guys on Thursday,
September 2, 1965 when the Fall Caravan of
Stars

The Shirelles, Ronnie Dove, Mel Carter,
