Roger E. Peichert, 87, of Pooler, GA formerly of Windsor, CT, passed away at home on April 8, 2019. He was born in Hartford, CT on September 18, 1931, son of the late Otto Peichert and Esther (Kallstrom) Peichert. Roger was the second to the youngest of nine children in the Peichert family.

Growing up on the family farm in Windsor, Roger learned the value of hard work at an early age and routinely helped his family raise and harvest vegetables.

After graduating from Windsor High School, Roger honorably served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Era. During his military service Roger continued his education in accounting and mathematics.

In the late 90s Roger retired from WDRC Radio Station in Hartford after a long and successful career as the station accountant.

Roger enjoyed traveling to new places and took two memorable trips with his cousin Charlotte, first to Europe and later to the Near East where he visited the Holy Lands. In recent years, Roger relocated to Georgia to be near his nephew, Roger. He was a kind and generous friend, devoted brother, and loving uncle.

Roger is survived by several nieces and nephews and their families as well as three sisters-in-law. He was predeceased by eight siblings: Richard, Ernest, Warren, Allen, Donald, Rena, Eugene, and Harold Peichert.

His funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, with family gathering at 2:30 p.m., followed by a service at 3:00 pm at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. Burial and military honors will immediately follow his service in Riverside Cemetery, Windsor.
